Separate men’s and women’s groups
Group times below are the standing weekly schedule. Seats in each group are limited, so confirm your start date by phone before you turn up. If you are attending under a court order, check that the group you join is the one your paperwork actually names.
Outpatient Groups (IOP and SOP)
Substance use treatment groups run in the evening so that work and childcare are not automatic barriers to attendance.

BIPP runs in separate men’s and women’s groups. Partners do not attend together, and the accredited curriculum requires a minimum of eighteen weekly sessions.

Things to Keep in Mind
Log in or sign in ten minutes before the group starts. Late arrivals can be marked absent, and absences count against court-ordered attendance.
Payment is taken by card. Check current payment arrangements when you confirm your start date.
A code is sent to you before a video group. Without it you cannot join, so check it has arrived well before the session.
Groups are deliberately kept small. Sign up in advance rather than assuming a place will be free on the night.
What Zoom Is and What You Need to Use It
Zoom is a cloud-based video, chat, and telephone service. It lets several people in different places talk to each other in real time by video and audio, which is what makes a group work when everyone cannot be in the same room.
You do not need special equipment. Any of the following will run it, as long as you have an internet connection:

Getting a Video Group to Work
Most problems people run into are not technical, they are practical. A group works far better when you can hear and be heard, and when nobody else in the house can overhear what other participants are saying.
Find a room where you can shut the door. What other people share in group is confidential, and that protection depends on you as much as on us.
They keep the audio in your ears rather than in the room, and they cut down the echo that makes group discussion hard to follow.
Attendance in a video group generally means being visible and present, not just logged in. Driving while attending does not count.
A three-hour outpatient group will flatten a phone. Plug in before you start rather than dropping out halfway through.
Common Questions About Groups
Do I have to attend every week?
Yes. Court-ordered programs have attendance requirements, and missed sessions are reported. If something unavoidable comes up, call the office before the group rather than after it.
Can I switch between the Tuesday and Saturday BIPP groups?
Ask first. Groups build over eighteen weeks and moving between them is not always appropriate, though it is sometimes possible when a work schedule changes.
Are men and women in the same BIPP group?
No. Men’s and women’s BIPP groups run separately, and partners never attend the same group.
¿Hay grupos en español?
Sí. Hay grupos ambulatorios los martes y viernes, un grupo de BIPP para hombres los jueves por la tarde en persona, y un grupo de BIPP para mujeres los jueves. Comuníquese con la oficina para confirmar los horarios.
What if my internet drops mid-group?
Rejoin with the same code. Let the office know what happened so the attendance record reflects the disruption accurately.
Which groups meet in person?
Availability of in-person and video attendance varies by program and by what the referring court permits. The Thursday Spanish men’s BIPP group is a face-to-face group at the Kuykendahl Road office.
